FAQ
Like other Ottawa South chiropractors, we hear many questions from new and current chiropractic patients. Here are some of the most common questions and answers…
Do adjustments hurt?
Ottawa South chiropractors will all agree that adjustments are a very gentle procedure. They should never hurt. We use many different techniques and strive to find the one that best matches your nervous system sensitivities. It is not uncommon to change techniques in the middle of a treatment protocol.
In other words what was appropriate at the beginning of the protocol may become inappropriate as the patients evolves and recovers and we change to match it. This is why constant communication with our team is vital. This is also where you find the “art” of Chiropractic and where 25 years of experience as a Ottawa South, ON chiropractor, and research comes into play.
How much does in cost and how long will it take?
The range varies tremendously. Every case is judged on its own merits. They are no “one size fits all” solutions to health challenges. I like to say that “the era of “Betty Crocker” medicine is over.” Some cases are quick and very simple–others exceedingly complex. Be assured that all patients are offered a variety of options from simple pain relief to the return full structural, functional and neurological integrity.
Are neck adjustments safe?
Cases of serious injury are practically nonexistent. By comparison, it makes the deaths caused by over-the-counter-pain-relievers to be considerably more troubling! Even risk-adverse insurance companies recognize the safety of today’s chiropractic care. Ottawa South chiropractors help with neck issues so frequently, it’s almost routine. The premiums for malpractice insurance paid by chiropractors are a mere fraction of what medical practitioners must pay. Chiropractic care is safe.
Is Chiropractic just for back pain?
Although we see lots of lower back, mid back and neck pain cases, Chiropractic is far for only for these conditions. Because the nervous system is the “Master Control” system, controlling and coordinating every function of your body, removing interference with the communication between your brain and you body (and vice versa) is key to regaining normal function in all systems. That is why we see a wide range of conditions from digestive, respiratory, pediatric, immune related, cognitive, neurological as well as musculoskeletal and sports related injuries.
